The IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (Institution of Incorporated Engineers) joined together in 2006 to form the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology).

It draws together key guidance from other IET inspection, safety and maintenance titles to provide a practical overview for duty holders responsible for maintaining electrical systems. It is designed for use by electrical contractors carrying out maintenance and by duty holders and building services engineers.
