This new version is a global standard with a global scope. BS EN ISO 14120:2015 replaces BS EN 953 and ISO 14120:2002 as the standard for compliance with the EU's machinery directive.
BS EN ISO 14120:2015 covers a comprehensive range of requirements for the design, construction, application and testing of fixed and movable guards.
This updated version enlarges the focus to a global audience and extends the compliance requirements to improve the state of the art, taking into account legislative and practicability changes in the intervening years.
The 2015 standard will replace the old version in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) in due course, giving the same presumption of conformity as the old version.
The presumption of conformity of the old version will end after a period of transition.
