BS EN 60079-19:2019 is Part 19 is a series of European standards dealing with explosive atmospheres. It supplies recommendations on how to repair, overhaul, reclaim and modify electrical equipment for use in an explosive atmosphere.
Who is BS EN 60079-19:2019 for?

Why should you use BS EN 60079-19:2019?
The 60079 series examines a wide range of factors for component usage in hazardous areas and defines different hazardous area classifications.
BS EN 60079-19:2019 forms an integral part of the series providing technical recommendations for equipment repair, overhaul, reclamation and modification in explosive atmospheres.
It supplies detailed instructions on several testing processes for windings after any repair. It gives instructions on what can and cannot be done when an old part is repaired or overhauled in enclosures, cable and conduit entries, terminations, insulation, internal connections and windings, along with instructions for testing after the repair.
New content has been added including the requirements for flameproof brakes, other auxiliary devices, light-transmitting parts, encapsulated parts, batteries, lamps, lamp holders, ballasts and breathing devices.
NOTE: This part does not focus on maintenance, other than overhaul and repair which cannot be separated from maintenance. This standard also does not provide guidance on cable entry systems when the equipment is reinstalled.
